Active Duty Service Members and Families
Active duty service members and their family members (spouses and children registered in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System(DEERS) A database of information on uniformed services members (sponsors), U.S.-sponsored foreign military, DoD and uniformed services civilians, other personnel as directed by the DoD, and their family members. You need to register in DEERS to get TRICARE.) are eligible for TRICARE.
Your Health Plan Options
Active duty service members must enroll in one of the following plans, based on their duty station.
Active duty family members can enroll in one of these TRICARE Prime plansTRICARE Prime plans include: TRICARE Prime, TRICARE Prime Remote, TRICARE Prime Overseas, TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas and TRICARE Young Adult-Prime with their sponsor, or they may qualify to use one of the following plans:
- TRICARE Select
- TRICARE Select Overseas
- US Family Health Plan (in specific U.S. locations)
- TRICARE For Life (with Medicare Part A and Part B coverage)
- TRICARE Young Adult (dependent adult children only)
Dental Options
- Active duty service members get dental care at military dental clinics. For civilian dental care, you’ll use the Active Duty Dental Program.
- Family members may purchase TRICARE Dental Program coverage.
