My Sponsor Died While Covered by TAMP

Transitional Assistance Management Program coverage lasts for 180 days. If your sponsor has TAMP and dies during that 180-day period, you may keep TAMP coverage up to that 180th day.

Loss of Coverage

After the 180-day period ends, you lose TAMP coverage. You need to keep minimum essential coverage under the Affordable Care Act. You can:

• Purchase temporary coverage under the Continued Health Care Benefit Program.
• Use health insurance through an employer.
• Use Medicaid.
• Use a plan offered through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
