TRICARE Prime Pilot Demonstration – Atlanta
Do you live in the Atlanta area? Are you enrolled in TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Select?
If yes, you may choose to enroll in Kaiser Permanente, a TRICARE Prime option. If you’re eligible, you can enroll during TRICARE Open Season. The 2021 TRICARE Open Season begins Nov. 8 and ends Dec. 13, 2021.
Your enrollment takes effect on Jan. 1, 2022.
You can also enroll up to 90-days after a Qualifying Life Event.
How does the pilot work?
TRICARE’s East regionUnder the new regional contracts, the East Region is a merger of the North and South Regions and includes: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa (Rock Island area), Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri (St. Louis area), New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas (excluding El Paso area), Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. contractor is Humana Military. They are partnering with Kaiser Permanente to offer a TRICARE Prime option.
What does this mean for you?
This means, if you enroll in Kaiser Permanente’s TRICARE Prime option, you’ll be able to:
- Access Kaiser Permanente's network of:
- Specialists, and
- Hospitals in the Atlanta area.
- Access any TRICARE-authorized urgent care provider.
You can still use Veterans Affairs facilities if you’re eligible. You can go to a military hospital or clinic for care, if space is available. You can fill your prescriptions at a military pharmacy.
