TRICARE Prime
Follow these steps to ensure there’s no break in coverage when you move:
- Don't disenroll from TRICARE Prime before you move.
- Update your address in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System.
- Transfer your TRICARE Prime coverage within 90 days of arriving at your new location.
TRICARE Prime isn’t available everywhere. You may have different health plan options when you move. Check the Plan Finder to learn more.
Your process for transferring your enrollment is different based on who you are. For details, select which best describes you below:
- Active duty service member (includes activatedCalled or ordered to active duty service for more than 30 days in a row. National Guard and Reserve members)
- Active duty family member (includes family members of activated National Guard and Reserve members)
- Active duty survivor
- Retired service member and their family members
Displaced for more than 90 days?
You have 90 days from the date of your address change to change your TRICARE health plan and your TRICARE region.
Be sure to update your address and other personal information in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System after you move.
