How to Get Started
For your child to enroll in the ACD, they need:
- An ASD diagnosis by an approved provider or specialist
- A referralWhen your primary care manager or provider sends you to another provider for care that they don’t provide. for ABA services that includes:
- The severity level of the ASD diagnosis
- Your child’s diagnosis date Note: If your child is over eight years old, specialized providers must submit this referral.
- A complete DHA DSM-5 approved checklist
- Results from one of these assessment tools:
- Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers and Young Children
- Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition
- Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised
- Childhood Autism Rating Scale-Second Edition
- Gilliam Autism Rating Scale, Third Edition and full diagnostic evaluation Note: If your child is younger than 12 months, your provider can pick a tool that is suitable for their age.
- To accept Autism Service Navigator services
- Enrollment in EFMP and registered in ECHO if your sponsorThe term sponsor specifically refers to the active duty, retired or deceased service member whose military status entitles their dependents (spouse, children, etc.) to receive TRICARE health benefits. is an ADSM
