Inhaler Coverage

For patients with asthma and other conditions, TRICARE covers up to six inhalers at once for a 90-day supply at participating pharmacies. If you get your medications from:

• A military pharmacy, you can get
  • A maximum of six refills to cover 90 days.
• TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery, you can get
  • A maximum of six refills to cover 90 days.
• TRICARE retail network pharmacy, you can get
  • Two inhalers to cover 30 days.
  • Patients can pick up:
    • Four inhalers to cover 60 days.
    • Six inhalers to cover 90 days.

This includes:

• Albuterol
  • Proair
  • Proventil
  • Ventolin
• Levalbuterol
  • Xopenex

TRICARE Pharmacy Copayments

Your costs will vary depending on your drug category. Prescription drugs fall into four categories:

1. Generic formulary drugs
2. Brand-name formulary drugs
3. Non-formulary drugs
4. Non-covered drugs

Non-Active Duty Service Members must pay the full CopaymentA fixed dollar amount you may pay for a covered health care service or drug. for each 30-day supply.
