Bulimia

Bulimia is a condition where people have recurrent episodes of eating unusually large amounts of food. They often feel a lack of control over their eating. After eating, a person may avoid weight gain by:

  • Vomiting
  • Using laxatives or diuretics
  • Fasting
  • Exercising excessively

Symptoms

  • Inflamed and sore throat
  • Swollen salivary glands in the neck and jaw
  • Worn tooth enamel and increasingly sensitive and decaying teeth
  • Digestive issues: Acid reflux disorder, intestinal distress and irritation
  • Severe dehydration
  • Electrolyte imbalance
