What is Balance Billing?

You will receive bills from TRICARE providers for cost-shares, copayments, and deductibles not collected at your time of service.

Balance billing is when your provider bills you for any amount more than the TRICARE-allowable charge after TRICARE processes the claim. TRICARE does not allow network and participating providers to do this.

If you choose to see a non-network, non-participating provider, please note that these providers may balance bill up to 115% of what TRICARE allows.

If you have questions, please send a completed beneficiary claims correspondence form and a copy of your bill to TriWest via fax or mail.
