Drug Limitations and Requirements

There are limitations and requirements for drugs filled through the Deployment Prescription Program.

Schedule II controlled drugs

Schedule II drug prescriptions may be e-prescribed or mailed to TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery. (Electronic prescribing is subject to federal and state/U.S. territory e-prescribing laws.)

To mail your prescription, you must send a hard copy (paper) prescription with the provider’s handwritten signature and a valid personal DEA number. We don’t accept photocopied, scanned, faxed, or digital signatures.

Send hard copy prescriptions to:

Express Scripts, Inc.
P.O. Box 52012

You can only get a 90-day supply at a time with no refills.

We may require a new prescription if we find errors.

You must see a provider in theater for all follow-up care and prescription renewals.

Non-deployable drug types

You must have proof of an approved CENTCOM waiver.

These types of drugs won’t be shipped to APO/FPO/DPO addresses:

  • Drugs that need refrigerated packaging
  • Drugs that need pressurized dispensing devices
Over-the-counter drugs

Only certain OTC drugs can be filled through the DPP. Contact the Express Scripts DPP team to check if the drug you need can be filled.
