Certain providers, like certified marriage and family therapists and autism service companies, must have a participation agreement with TRICARE. Most facilities, such as hospitals and nursing homes, must also have this. These providers must take the amount TRICARE approves as full payment. They have to send in claims for you, and they can only ask you to pay your share, like deductibles or cost-shares. View a list of providers who require participation agreements.
Network Providers
Network providers will file claims for you. You are responsible for copays and cost shares when you use a network provider. If a PCM is not providing care, then most TRICARE Prime plansTRICARE Prime plans include: TRICARE Prime, TRICARE Prime Remote, TRICARE Prime Overseas, TRICARE Prime Remote Overseas and TRICARE Young Adult-Prime require a referral or prior authorization for care.
Military Hospital or Clinic
Military hospitals and clinics operate on military bases and posts. The Department of Defense runs these facilities and do not charge a fee for most services.

PCMs
All TRICARE Prime enrollees choose or are assigned a PCM. Your PCM is responsible for providing you with all routine, nonemergency, and urgent health care.
Autism Care Providers
This applies to all plans, but there may be some restrictions.
Non-Network Providers
This applies to all plans, but TRICARE Prime plans require a referral to see these providers.
