Drug addiction can be managed successfully. This is similar to other chronic, relapsing diseases, such as diabetes, asthma, or heart disease. And like other chronic diseases, it isn’t uncommon for a person to relapse. Relapse, however, doesn’t mean your treatment failed. It means you should reinstate or adjust your treatment. Or that you need an alternative treatment to help you regain control and recover.
