I am new to TRICARE For Life. How do I fill a prescription at a military pharmacy?
You need a valid Uniform Services ID card and a prescription. Take your prescription directly to the military pharmacy or ask your provider to e-prescribe. To learn more, visit our Military Pharmacy page.
Some drugs may not be available at your military pharmacy. Call and check to see if your drug is available. To find a military pharmacy, visit our Find a Military Hospital or Clinic page.
Note: If you're going to a military pharmacy for the first time, the staff may need to register you before you can fill your prescription.
Some military pharmacies offer Q-Anywhere services and ScriptCenter Kiosks. Check with your local military pharmacy to see if this service is available.
- With Q-Anywhere, you can text your local military pharmacy's designated number to activate new prescriptions. This allows you to virtually "get in line" without waiting in person. You'll get a text when your prescription is ready for pickup. You’ll need to have your DoD ID number ready.
- ScriptCenters are contactless, automated lockers or vending machine units. They can be located away from the pharmacy, including locations you may often visit such as the Base Exchanges. Location placements vary by military site. You can enroll in ScriptCenter by visiting a kiosk. Once registered, you can pick up prescriptions at your convenience. You can’t use ScriptCenters to pick up refrigerated or controlled substance medications.
