What is the TRICARE Prime Demo?
It’s a new health plan option in Tampa, FL and Atlanta, GA. CareSource Military & Veterans administers the plan. EEE confirms eligibility and processes enrollment. You are eligible if you’re:
- An active duty family member
- A National Guard or Reserve family member, if you sponsor is activated
- A retiree, retiree family member, or survivor who isn’t eligible for Medicare
- Enrolled in the Transitional Compensation Program

Costs:
- If you’re a retiree or family member of a retiree, you won’t pay enrollment fees for the first 12 months. After the first year, you will pay TRICARE Prime enrollment fees. Your costs for care depend on your beneficiary group, and the type of care you get (for example, outpatient care). Visit TRICARE Costs to see your costs.
- If you’re an active duty family member or a transitional survivor, you don’t pay an enrollment fee. You also have no copayments for care you get care from your primary care manager or from CSMV’s network of providers.
Providers: You will get care through CSMV’s network of providers. CSMV will help you choose a primary care manager. You may not get care at a military hospital or clinic except in case of emergency.
Referrals and Authorizations: You don’t need referrals for care you get from CSMV’s network of providers. If you see a non-network provider without a , you will pay more under the point-of-service option.
You will need to get a for the following services:
- Adjunctive dental services
- Applied behavior analysis
- Home health services
- Hospice care
- Transplants (all solid organ and stem cell)
- Some services covered under the Provisional Coverage Program
Covered Services: Visit Covered Services to find out if your service is covered.
Pharmacy Benefits: Included as part of the TRICARE Pharmacy Program. This means you can still use military pharmacies and TRICARE’s retail network pharmacies.
Dental Benefits: Not included. You may buy separate dental coverage. To learn about dental plan options, visit Dental Care.
Visions Benefits: Available but depends on who you are (for example, active duty family member, retiree), and the type of vision care you need. To learn more, visit Vision.
You may have the option to enroll in vision coverage through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program. To learn more, visit BENEFEDS.gov.
