What is TRICARE Plus?
TRICARE Plus is a primary care program available at some military hospitals and clinics. You are eligible for TRICARE Plus if you are:
- Eligible for care in military hospitals and clinics (including dependent parents or parents-in-law).
- Not enrolled in TRICARE Prime.
- Not enrolled in an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) or similar program (including an employer-sponsored HMO or Medicare Advantage (Medicare Part C) plan).
If you’re an active duty service member, you aren’t eligible for TRICARE Plus.

Costs:
- There is no enrollment fee.
- You have no copayments for care you get from your primary care manager (PCM) at the military hospital or clinic to which you're enrolled.
- TRICARE Plus doesn’t pay for any care you get outside of the military hospital or clinic.
Providers:
- You will have a primary care manager at the military hospital or clinic to which you're enrolled.
Referrals and Authorizations:
You don’t need referrals or authorizations for care you get from your PCM.
Covered Services:
You may only get primary care services at the military hospital or clinic to which you're enrolled.
Pharmacy Benefits:
You may get prescriptions at the military pharmacy.
Dental Benefits:
None.
Vision Benefits:
None.
