TRICARE covers the following types of nuclear medicine for certain indications:

  • Positron emission tomography (PET scans)
  • Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT scans)
  • Indium pentetreotide scintigraphy (Octreoscan)
  • Bone density studies
