How do I file a pharmacy claim?

 

To learn how to file a pharmacy claim, visit the Pharmacy Claims page. In most cases you won’t need to file a pharmacy claim. You only need to file a pharmacy claim if you have other health insuranceHealth insurance you have in addition to TRICARE, such as Medicare or an employer-sponsored health insurance. TRICARE supplements don’t qualify as "other health insurance." with pharmacy benefits or if you filled your prescription at a non-network pharmacy. 

 

If you live in the U.S. or U.S. territories, you have 1 year from the date of purchase to file your pharmacy claim. You may file your pharmacy claim online. You'll need your prescriber information, pharmacy receipt, and pharmacy phone number to fill out the claim form. Follow these steps: 

  1. Log in to your Express Scripts account.
  2. Select Benefits from the menu.
  3. Select Forms.
  4. Select Start a Claim.

If you live overseas, you have 3 years from the date of purchase to file your pharmacy claim. You must also submit proof of payment with your claim. To learn more, visit the Proof of Payment for Overseas Claims page. You may file your overseas pharmacy claim online. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your TRICARE Overseas Secure Claims portal account.
  2. Select Claim Activity from the menu.
  3. Select File a Claim.
