I just got married, how do I sign-up my spouse for TRICARE?
It’s a 2-step process:
Step 1. You need to register your spouse in the (DEERS) by visiting a uniformed services ID card-issuing facility and providing the required documentation. Visit the RAPIDS ID Card Office Online to find a facility near you.
Step 2. You need to enroll your spouse in a TRICARE plan. To learn more, visit the Getting Married page. If your spouse has Medicare, go to the Becoming Medicare-eligible page to learn more about their options.
Getting married is a Qualifying Life Event. You have 90 days from the date of marriage to get coverage for your spouse and to make changes to your health plan. Visit the Qualifying Life Event page to learn more.
Note: This also applies to same-sex spouses.
