Radiation Therapy
TRICARE may cover radiation oncology in the following forms when safe, effective and comparable or superior to the standard of care for certain indications:
- Radiation therapy, including brachytherapy, fast neutron, hyperfractionated and radioactive chromic phosphate synoviorthesis
- Hyperthermia, except in the treatment of breast cancer
- Gamma Knife Radiosurgery/Radiotherapy
- Linear Accelerator Radiosurgery/Radiotherapy
- Proton Beam Radiosurgery/Radiotherapy
- Helium Ion Beam Radiosurgery/Radiotherapy
- Frameless Stereotaxy (neuronavigation)
- Extracranial Stereotactic Radiosurgery/Radiotherapy
- High Energy Neutron Radiation Treatment
- Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT)
