Lung Cancer Screening

TRICARE covers an annual low-dose computed tomography screening if you meet the following criteria:

  • You’re 50–80 years old.
  • You have a 20 pack per year history of smoking, you currently smoke, or you’ve quit smoking within the past 15 years.

You must see a TRICARE network provider for TRICARE to pay for this screening.

Screening should end when you:

  • Haven’t smoked for 15 years
  • Develop a health problem significantly limiting your life expectancy or ability to undergo curative lung surgery
