Does TRICARE Young Adult cover vision services?

 

It depends on which TRICARE Young Adult option (TYA) you bought and your sponsor’s status. See the table below for information. 

 

Active Duty Sponsor 
(Includes Guard/Reserve Sponsor on Active Duty for more than 30 days)

Sponsor Enrolled in TRICARE Reserve Select or TRICARE Retired Reserve

Retired Sponsor
 TYA-Prime Option       1 routine eye examAn exam of your vision and the health of your eyes. per year  TYA-Prime isn’t an available option

1 routine eye exam every 2 years   
 TYA-Select Option    1 routine eye exam per year  1 routine eye exam per year  Not covered
