Can I fill my prescription from a civilian doctor at my military pharmacy?

Yes. You can take your prescription to a military pharmacy or ask your doctor to e-prescribe. Call your military pharmacy to find out if your medication is in stock.

Use the TRICARE Formulary Search tool to see if you need to get prior authorization for your medication.

Note: If you're going to a military pharmacy for the first time, the staff may need to register you before you can fill your prescription.

Some military pharmacies offer Q-Anywhere services and ScriptCenter Kiosks. Check with your local military pharmacy to see if this service is available.

  • With Q-Anywhere, you can text your military pharmacy's designated number to activate new prescriptions. This allows you to virtually "get in line" without waiting in person. You'll get a text message when your prescription is ready for pickup. You will need to have your DoD ID number ready. Learn more.
  • ScriptCenters are contactless, automated lockers or vending machine units. They can be located away from the pharmacy, including locations you may often visit such as the Base Exchanges. Location placements vary by military site. You can enroll in ScriptCenter by visiting a kiosk. Once registered, you can pick up prescriptions at your convenience. You can’ use ScriptCenters to pick up refrigerated or controlled substance medications.
