I’m a widowed spouse. Do I lose my TRICARE eligibility if I remarry?

 

Yes.

You must:

1. Report your marriage to the DMDC/DEERS Support Office; and
2. Turn in your ID card to the closest ID Card Office.

If you don't report your marriage and you keep getting care, TRICARE will recoup on all claims paid during periods of ineligibility.

If you have questions about your eligibility, call the DMDC/DEERS Support Office. 

Note: If the second marriage ends (for example by divorce or death), you don’t get back your TRICARE-eligibility.
