No.  See the table below to find out what you need to show your doctor, pharmacist, and dentist as proof of eligibility.

Note: Children under age 10 may use a parent's or guardian's ID card. At age 10, the child must have his or her own ID card.

Active duty service members: Common Access Card (CAC).

All others: Your valid uniformed services identification (ID) card.          

Active duty service members: The date of service must be before the expiration date on the front of your CAC.

All others: The date of service must be before the expiration date on the back of your ID card. Your provider must call the TRICARE contractor to verify eligibility.    

Note: Your TRICARE Prime enrollment card is only valid when you present it with your uniform services ID card     

TRICARE Select

TRICARE Select Overseas

Your valid uniformed services identification (ID) card.

The date of service must be before the expiration date on the back of your ID card. Your provider must call the TRICARE contractor to verify eligibility.    

TRICARE For Life Your valid uniformed services identification (ID) card and your Medicare card.

The date of service must be before the expiration date on the back of your ID card. Your provider must call the TRICARE contractor to verify eligibility.    

TRICARE Reserve Select TRICARE Reserve Select enrollment card.
If you need a replacement card, login to milConnect to print a copy.
TRICARE Retired Reserve TRICARE Retired Reserve enrollment card. If you need a replacement card, login to milConnect to print a copy.
TRICARE Young Adult Your valid uniformed services identification (ID) card.

TRICARE Pharmacy Program

Coverage for dental starts on the effective date shown on your card.

Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP)
If you enrolled in a FEDVIP plan during the Federal Benefits Open Season, call your FEDVIP plan to find out what you need to show proof of coverage.
