Does TRICARE cover hearing aids?

Yes. You must be an active duty service member or an active duty family member with profound hearing loss that meets certain hearing criteria.

Effective December 22,2023, an eligible child of a retiree may get hearing aids. The child must be enrolled in TRICARE Prime or USFHP and have profound hearing loss that meets certain hearing criteria. You may file a claim for reimbursement for covered services received on or after December 22, 2023. You must file within one year from the date of service.

Note: If you're a retiree, you may be able to buy hearing aids for a lower price through the Retiree-At-Cost Hearing Aid Program. Contact your local military hospital or clinic to see if the program is available.
