Are my family and I eligible for TRICARE while I’m deployed or mobilized?

 

If you’re a:

• Full-time active duty service member, you and your family are TRICARE-eligible. Your eligibility doesn’t change during your deployment.
• Reserve Component member, called or ordered to active duty for more than 30 days, then you and your family are TRICARE-eligible. You and your family may qualify for early TRICARE eligibility if your orders are for a preplanned mission or in support of a contingency operation.

Note: During deployment, you'll get most of your care in theater at a troop medical clinic, combat hospital or similar military-operated health care facility.
