What do I do if my prescription drug is out of stock through Home Delivery?

If your prescription is new and you mailed it in; Express Scripts cancels the order and returns the prescription to you.

  • Take your prescription and have it filled at your local:

If your prescription is new and your doctor called or faxed it in; Express Scripts cancels the order.

  • Get a new script from your doctor and have it filled at your local:

  • Ask your doctor to prescribe another drug and check to see if the new drug is in stock with Home Delivery.

If you're getting a refill, Express Scripts puts the refill on hold and holds it until the drug is back in stock or the prescription expires.

  • Keep checking with Express Scripts to see when your prescription drug is back in stock. Go to your local retail network pharmacy and ask the pharmacist to call Express Scripts to transfer your prescription from home delivery to retail. You must have at least one refill left on your prescription. You're responsible for the retail network pharmacy copays.

  • Get a new script from your doctor and have it filled at your local military pharmacy. Before you go, call to make sure they carry your dug and that it's in stock.

  • Ask your doctor to prescribe another drug and check to see if it's in stock with Home Delivery.
