Does TRICARE cover a CPAP machine and supplies?

Yes, but it’s a limited benefit. You must have a prescription from a TRICARE-authorized doctor. To learn more, visit the CPAP Machine page. TRICARE doesn’t cover batteries or machine cleaners, like SoClean. CPAP cleaners aren't FDA approved and could be harmful to CPAP machines.

For CPAP machine replacement, you need documentation showing why you can no longer use it and proof it would cost less to replace than to repair. You need a new prescription from a TRICARE-authorized doctor.

If you’re an active duty service member, you may be eligible to get a portable CPAP and batteries. You must have a referral and authorization and meet certain criteria.

Note: If you have TRICARE For Life coverage and live in the U.S. or a U.S. Territory, you must also follow Medicare’s rules.
