How does my doctor become a TRICARE provider?
Have your doctor call the regional contractor for his or her state. Doctors may choose to become a non-network TRICARE-authorized providerAn authorized provider is any individual, institution/organization, or supplier that is licensed by a state, accredited by national organization, or meets other standards of the medical community, and is certified to provide benefits under TRICARE. There are two types of TRICARE-authorized providers: Network and Non-Network. DS or a network provider. Your provider may also complete an online application to join the East region network or West region network.
