Tobacco Cessation Services
TRICARE provides services, drugs and support to help you quit tobacco. You don’t need to be diagnosed with a tobacco-related illness to use tobacco cessation benefits.
- Benefits are available to all beneficiaries who aren't eligible for Medicare
- Tobacco cessation counseling is currently covered under Medicare Part B
- If you're eligible for Medicare, you must use Medicare for these types of services

Tobacco Cessation Products |
TRICARE covers prescription and over-the-counter tobacco cessation products at no cost.
- You must have a prescription from a TRICARE-authorized providerAn authorized provider is any individual, institution/organization, or supplier that is licensed by a state, accredited by national organization, or meets other standards of the medical community, and is certified to provide benefits under TRICARE. There are two types of TRICARE-authorized providers: Network and Non-Network. DS
- Tobacco cessation products are covered through home delivery or at a military pharmacy.
- Available in the U.S. to all (non-Medicare) beneficiaries age 18 and older.
- Available overseas and in U.S. Territories to active duty service members and family members enrolled in TRICARE Prime Overseas
