Red Cross in partnership with Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg; 4th Medical Group Seymour Johnson Air Force
Base; Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune; and Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point offer the following Pharmacy Technician
training opportunity.

Scheduled to begin on April 1, 2020, this is a 22-week (670 hour) program available to military family members interested in
volunteering at or a career in the pharmacy as a certified pharmacy technician (CPhT).

The application deadline for the Pharmacy Technician Program (PhTP) is January 15, 2020.

The Three-Part Course

Didactic (classroom)

The first part will be in a classroom and is three weeks long, with a total of 120 classroom hours. Taught by a registered pharmacist and certified pharmacy technician from Womack Army Medical Center. Distance learning options are available for Red Cross volunteers at Seymour Johnson, Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

Only students who pass the classroom portion may continue to the Supervised Clinical Practicum.

Times will remain flexible to the training calendar for pharmacy personnel at Womack.

Supervised Clinical Practicum

The first 350 hours are the Clinical Practicum, which are closely supervised. With Pharmacy POC approval, the remaining 200 hours are volunteer clinical hours, which will be conducted with a minimal level of Pharmacy POC supervision.
