How do I get to Fort Belvoir?

Directions to Fort Belvoir.

From Richmond, via I-95 North

  • From I-95 North, take Exit 166A for Fairfax County Parkway / Backlick Road (7100)
  • Continue on Fairfax County Parkway to its end at U.S. Route 1 / Richmond Highway
  • Turn left on Route 1 / Richmond Highway

If you have a Common Access Card (CAC) or federal identification card

  • You may enter post through any gate, but we recommend passing Tulley Gate and taking a right on Belvoir Road, to Pence Gate
  • Pence Gate is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week
  • After passing through the gate, enter the traffic circle and take the first right on DeWitt Loop

If you don’t have a CAC or federal identification card

  • You’ll be required to enter Fort Belvoir through Tulley Gate between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., otherwise you will need to enter through Lieber Gate
  • After the left turn on Route 1 / Richmond Highway, turn right at the first light, toward Tulley Gate
  • Stop at the Visitor Center on the right and get a pass to enter Tulley Gate
  • After passing through the gate, continue straight to the third traffic light and turn left on Belvoir Road
  • Continue on Belvoir Road to the second traffic light and turn left on DeWitt Loop
  • Patients may park in either parking garage (River or Meadows), or in front of the hospital. The first two floors of each parking garage are designated for patient parking.

From Washington, via I-95 South
