Advice Line: Beneficiaries should call the Nurse Advice Line at 1-800-TRICARE, Option 1. The Nurse Advice Line allows patients to talk access the new Military Health System Nurse Advice Line website at www.mhsnurseadviceline.com allowing them to discuss their health concern over a telephone call, web chat, or secure video teleconference.
A team of registered nurses are available 24/7 to answer a variety of urgent healthcare questions, give healthcare advice, help you find a doctor and schedule next-day/same-day appointments at military hospitals and clinics. They can help you decide whether self-care is the best option, or if it is better to see a healthcare provider.
After Hours Care: Contact the Nurse Advice Line at 1-800-TRICARE and choose option 1 for after hours care. Patients will talk with a registered nurse available 24/7 who can help determine the level care needed.
If the condition needs further attention, the nurse may set-up an appointment with a PCM within 24 hours, refer the patient to urgent care or an emergency room, or instruct the patient to call 9-1-1.
