Infusion/Injection Medication
U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval is a perquisite, but not all FDA approved medications are covered by TRICARE. Injection/infusion medications may be self- or caregiver-administered, or administered by a home health agency, in a hospital, or in a provider’s office.

Costs depend on the location where the services are provided: a hospital, an outpatient office or a home setting.
Injectable Drugs
Some injectable drugs—or shots—are available at network pharmacies and through home delivery. If so, pharmacy copayments will apply. You can search the TRICARE Formulary to see which are available through the pharmacy benefit.

Injectable drugs not available at retail pharmacies and through home delivery:
- can be received at your doctor's office,
- are covered by your health plan, and
- are not covered by the pharmacy benefit.
